WE NEED A PUPPY TO LOVE

We were recently reminded how much we love puppies.  My nephew and his girlfriend came over to our place with their little pup, Lola.  We had some dinner and hung out and instantly fell in love with this sweet little bundle of fun.  As they were leaving, we tried to steal her but they put up a good fight and got her back, lol.  Now we have been wondering if we should get one of these little pups.  She’s a dachshund.  Do you guys think that’s a good breed to have in the city?

Daschunds are good, but can be aggressive if not socialized properly. Don’t get a chihuahua!!!
If you want a good small city dog, consider a Boston Terrier, they have tonnes of personality and are very good dogs. Any questions let me know, I’m a vet tech! 🙂

Scottie boy! Thanks for your ideas man. We def know who to hit up before we make that big decision. – Hunter

You should get a Cav! (cavalier king charles spaniel) like the on from Lady and the Tramp. I swear they are the cutest, cleanest, sweetest, friendliest dongs ever. They don’t know anger, no bad behavior. Its not in their DNA. We’ve got two, me and my bf. One big girl for 11 years and one lil girl for 2.5 years!

    • Cole and Hunter says:

Great advice, Matt. An Italian professor of mine had two Cavaliers. You are so right; they are just little furry lovers, and ridiculously cute! Oh man, I’ve got so much doggie love to give hahaha. Snap us some pics of your pups! – Hunter

I have 2 long hair red dachshunds and they’re sweet as can be. Very smart, very sweet, I got both of mine as puppies and had to train them not to bark. They’ve never met a person that they didn’t love instantly. Not the best guard dogs but they are great cuddlers.

Thanks for the info man! I think we’re gonna hold of on adoption till we have our own place, but we’ll def keep your thoughts in mind when it comes time. – Hunter

Hey men! We have 6 Weiner Dogs. 3 males and 3 girls. We love them dearly. They are a devoted breed to their loving owners. They make great lap dogs and snuggle bugs too! I have ours trained for chasing bunnies, squirrels, and foxes. We live in the country where they can run free when I take them for walks. They are a hunting hound breed and will hunt/chase animals when ever they get the chance.

I would not recomend this breed in a city environment where the dog barking would be a problem. They are yippers at strange noises and people. I can send you some pictures of ours if you send me an e-mail address.

    Love your movies,

Mike (and family), great to hear from ya, and thanks for the advice. I had actually read that the little guys have that hunting instinct and love running in open spaces. I bet your brood is very happy. We’d LOVE to see pics, ColeAndHunter@MaverickMen.com. – Hunter

My ex had a doxie and I had a dal. That doxie was a whole lot of dog in a really small package; kept up with my dal. They were the best of pals … even after we parted. Doxies have a heart to match; a whole lot of heart in a small package too. Personally, I’m a big dog kinda guy, but the doxie is the only small/toy on my short list.

Dive in. You’ll be glad you did.

    Best of Luck

I have two Dachshunds in Boston and they are excellent city dogs. The long-haired are considered the lovers; the short-haired are considered the protectors and the wire-haireds are the clowns. Another good thing about these dogs is that they do not shed like most dogs since they have hair instead of fur. They have great personalities and are good with people and other dogs. I got my standard black and tan longhair from a breeder in NH and my miniature wirehair from a breeder in NY. There are also many excellent dog walking and pet sitting professionals who can help you out when you are traveling or are not around to take the dog for a walk. Good luck with your decision!

    • Cole and Hunter says:

Thanks so much for the great advice, Tim. Hope to see you around town with your pups sometime, man. – Hunter

    • Cole and Hunter says:

“She knew when to bug my tricks to get them to go home” – LMAO!!! Now THAT’S man’s best friend 😉 – Glad you like the site, Howie, we’ll keep em comin at you 😉 – Hunter

  9. Roger says:

We had a Dachsund, looks the same as that one for 18 years….she was loving and affectionate, the best dog ever…she recently passed, it was the saddest day ever, I say go for it!

    • Cole and Hunter says:

Sorry to hear, Roger. It’s always tough when the little guys have to go – that’s sorta been the thing holding us back. – Hunter

    • Cole and Hunter says:

Dustin! Couldn’t agree more man; would LOVE a lab, grew up with them and have always thought they were just big lovers, never met one I didn’t like. But, we’re gonna have to wait till we get a yard for the little guy(s) to run around in (hopefully next year). Keep in touch buddy. – Hunter

  11. Josh says:

When are you guys putting up more videos???

    • Cole and Hunter says:

Hey Josh, we have a new vid going live tomorrow. Did you see the Beach Boy Fuckers vid we put up earlier this month?

  12. Mike says:

Great breed, but save up some money for the future because they frequently get intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) which usually requires surgery.

    Best wishes,
    Your future veterinarian

  13. Adam says:

Hey guys! Big fan! I would highly recommend adopting a greyhound. Even though they are big, they are great for city living because they sleep most of the day and love to curl up in tight spaces. They are very clean and don’t have that wet dog smell when playing in the rain.

    Good luck!

    • Cole and Hunter says:

Wow Adam, I love love love Greyhounds, we just met a pair of Italian Greyhounds last month, they were the sweetest little pups ever, have never thought about a super-sized version in they city, but def hear what you are saying, could really do without the wet doggie smell, too 😉 – Thanks, man! – Hunter

  14. Josh says:

My mom had one mini one its for sale 200 bucks 🙂 and its soooo cute its name is doug 🙂 and its so freaking cute but she lives in california

  15. Ian says:

I’ve heard that French Bulldogs are really great for apartment/city living because they don’t need a lot of outside playtime/exercise (breathing issues due to their pushed in noses).

    But Dachshunds would be cute….

    • Cole and Hunter says:

Thanks, Ian – I freggin LOVE Frenchies too, I think we are gonna have to hold off till we buy our house, I know smaller breeds don’t need as much wiggle room, but I’ve always felt like I can’t own a dog until I have a yard to give him. – Hunter

  16. briansslut says:

My friend has 2. The only thing bad I have to say about them (Debbie Downer looking in the camera) is that later in life they might have back problems. Hers have. Then again y’all might be lucky and your doggy won’t have that ailment. Good luck. Oh and by the way (looking in the camera again) hers were barkers too. lol

    • Cole and Hunter says:

Haha, good advice, Debbie 😉 – fortunately Lola’s parents (Cole’s nephew) also knew about Lola’s disposition to back problems and they made sure that she didn’t do any leaping from heights during her first year, her vet says she’s gonna be fine later in life. – Hunter

  17. Blake says:

They’re great for the city but they have a ton of health problems. Also some tend to bark at strangers…which could be a problem for you boys 😉

    • Cole and Hunter says:

Good advice, Blake. We def need a pup that understands that we have a pretty full social life 😉 – Hunter

  18. Jeff says:

I can tell she already has won your hearts? And what is not to love about a Dachie? I’ve grown up with them and they are the most loving, most forgiving, and most faithful of all the ‘low on stature’ dogs..Take her for a walk and watch her little legs run to keep up with you. Kisses? Forever. I suspect she has already wormed her way to resting between you two at night, or better yet, between your legs. Smart puppy! Love her and she’ll love you more!

    • Cole and Hunter says:

Haha, she’s def a lover, Jeff – but she belongs to Cole’s nephew, but she does come over to visit every now and then, we got to puppy-sit for her when we were in Ptown two summers ago, it was a blast; puppies are total cock magnets!!! – Hunter

  19. stefano says:
